Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management Student Association (IRHUMSA)  is a student body at Covenant University, under the department of Business Management. Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management: The study of IR/HRM at Covenant University will expose you to relevant theories, research and practices in managing people and the employment relationship. This is an area of study drawing on and using different  approaches and disciplines to develop our understanding of people's behaviour at work and how this might be influenced.The core disciplines involved here include Psychology, Sociology and Economics.

 

As a Human Resources Manager, your job will be to find thebest and the brightest people to fill open positions. Also, you will be responsible for ensuring that Federal, State, and Local laws are followed andthat employees receive all benefits to which they are entitled.  These courses help the students have vase knowledge which will ultimately improve their skills and social intellect. It is an interesting course of study which helps examine the economic and social forces affecting employer-employee relations.Human Resources Managers are also often called upon to resolve interoffice conflicts and ensure resolutions that are satisfactory to all parties.

Human Resource Management is an important business topic now, because it is  growing and attracting many students and professionals in our society. Graduates may find work in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or Personnel Management. Some find work outside the area of Labour-Management Relations in private industries or government agencies.
